We were delighted to be asked to print these wonderful slim wall calendars for artist Nicky Thompson. The calendars use illustrations from the Marvellous Days Out campaign for the Mid Cheshire Line and are now available to buy here
Nicky Thompson Art Calendar Prints
Nicky Thompson’s design agency, Lemondrop Creative, were given a brief to produce artwork for the Marvellous Days Out Campaign. It started with a single poster and progressed to include another 13 pieces for the campaign to promote the Mid Cheshire Line. Subsequently these have now been converted to posters, slim calendars and postcards.
The resulting artwork was a 1930’s railway poster pastiche, with a nod of the head towards Frank Henry Mason, famous for his art deco style railway posters. The illustrations quickly attracted notoriety with the BBC and ITV as well as extensive radio, newspaper and magazine coverage. And with the illustrations selling globally we were proud to be able to play a small part when asked to print these calendars, displaying 12 illustrations from the series.

Colour Accurate Calendar Printing
Each calendar has a back page including Manchester, Chester, Stockport, Altrincham, Knutsford amongst others, with a profile and contact details for the artist. And inside, each calendar page includes a map of the Mid Cheshire Line and gives excellent parity to the artists original illustrations in their stunning colours. The calendars are wiro-bound at the top and have a month on each page that includes a practical and useful calendar below each illustration. As always, each was printed with the usual attention to detail, expertise and quality that Johnsons customers are used to.
