Fluorescent Foiling – Making Greeting Cards Stand Out!

printing bright colours using foilBlock foiling doesn’t have to be a standard silver or gold, there’s an amazing selection of colours, iridescent patterns and, brightest of all, fluorescent foils, that are available.

Use Fluorescent Foils to Make Your Greeting Cards Stand Out

Using gold and silver foils to enhance your card designs has been a tried and tested way of giving a premium feel to a card.  Fluorescent foils however, are applied to compliment a message or design and they certainly make the cards stand out from the crowd. The colours in our image here don’t really show how bright these colours actually are so grab a sample from Simon Rosson to see their true glow.

Is Foiling Fluorescent Colours better than printing them?

Fluorescent foils are a relatively new thing to greeting cards, but we’ve been applying these bright colours to a whole host of marketing materials at Johnsons for many years. With the capability to print fluorescent inks as well, why do we need fluorescent foils?

Whilst fluorescent inks have many advantages, the fluorescent foils are a little more opaque and brighter. On some boards and paper stocks, the inks can become weaker where the paper stock begins to absorb the ink. This is not possible with the foil which is applied with heat to cover the surface of the card.

Obviously the RGB screen you’re looking at doesn’t really do fluorescent inks or foils any justice so leave us a message below for more information and samples.
